A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas

5.0

The Plot
After everything Feyre has gone through Under the Mountain, she is consumed by guilt and can't really come to terms with everything she did. Add in that she now has the powers and lifespan of a High Fae, Feyre is totally overwhelmed. As she and Tamlin get ready to get married, Feyre spirals deeper and deeper into a depression. But she still has to uphold her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the Night Court. While navigating her personal demons, Feyre also learns that not everything about said Night Court is as it seems.

My Thoughts
This might be one of the best books I've ever read. It's a masterpiece. From dragging us down the Tamlin spiral (no Tamlin redemption arc here, thank you) to slowly introducing us to the Night Court, everything is handled perfectly in terms of world building and pace. It would've been very easy to gloss over or rush through something, but Maas remained patient and was able to artfully change our entire perception from ACOTAR. And the ending was a huge shocker in so many ways!
