Weike Wang’s Rental House examines the interior lives of Keru and Nate, college sweethearts who come from vastly different backgrounds. Three vacation rental homes provide a space wherein topics such as job satisfaction, whether to have a child and do they have enough friends become a focus. Keru has some impulse control issues and Nate struggles with anxiety but both have difficult relationships with their parents. This couple’s struggles are entirely human and familiar but examined by Wang cleverly.
