Spoilers included. 1st i loved seeing Sara, Jeffrey, and Lena back on the page. Love seeing their characters  develop throughout the book. Especially Lena trying to come back from what happened to her and try to find help. We got to see more of Hank and hers relationship, as he was trying to help her.
This is only book 2 in this 6 book series. How much more darker can things get? The book was bit more slower pace than book 1, but I still enjoyed it. I had to put in down a few times just because the topic was real freaking heavy in this one. The direction this book went was unexpected for me. As we started to find out the people who were involved my mouth was on the floor. I didn't see both mothers being the ones responsible for the sick stuff that was going on. I just felt so bad for those kids and like I said i had to put the book down a few times. I knew the pastor had something to do with it. I didn't trust him from the jump. I don't know what it is about Brad, but I just don't trust him. We will see how his character unfolds throughout the series. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS BEFORE GOING INTO THIS BOOK!
