Man I love Becky Chambers’ work! Her ability to imagine and articulate the mind and experiences of a sentient AI are just incredible here. Some passages reminded me of the beautiful descriptions of code in Alif the Unseen.
I knew going in that this book wouldn’t focus on the main characters from A Long Way to a Small Angry Planet and I wasn’t sure how I would feel about that. It wasn’t an issue at all! I absolutely loved this one just as I loved the first. I took almost a year in between reading the two books which I think helped me not miss the other characters too much.
