Easily one of my favorites of the year. I loved its simplicity, but yet it held so much weight. It wasn't fast paced but it never once dragged, and I found myself devouring every chapter with an intense greed. Lalami executes the multiple POVs flawlessly, keeping the chapters short and enticing all while creating extremely compelling characters. I was obsessed from start to finish.
