I think there are two reasons why I liked Delicious.
First: Because it really is delicious. There is a lot of food mentioned, which is definitely a plus for someone like me who absolutely adores food. I'm not kidding, sometimes it was like I could feel and smell the food Verity was making. It made me hungry with every page, which is kind of weird I know.
Second: Another thing I love are fairytales. It's something I can't deny and I know it makes me look like I'm ten years younger but I can't help it. I fricking love fairytales . And Delicious is a remake of one - of Cinderella. I saw a lot of movies which are a modern version of Cinderella, but never have I read a book that would put so much details and passion of remaking one. It was the best remake of Cinderella I've ever seen.
And of course, as Cinderella, even Verity Durant gets a happily ever after.
And it is just awesome.
