This is a brief, but wonderfully written story, and I can see why it was longlisted for the Booker. The writing was so illustrative, bringing the characters (especially Bill Furlong) to life in just a short amount of pages. I found the story so interesting, and you could tell it came from the author's passion for the subject/history. I can see myself rereading this for a meloncholy read in the winter or around Christmas.
