The Wicked Sister by Karen Dionne

3.0

I finally finished The Wicked Sister by Karen Dionne this last weekend! I borrowed it from my awesome, book store owning friend, Denise at @gatheringvolumes to read before her book club last month, I was half way through when I went to the book club and then I got into a reading rut.

I love psychological thrillers and I thought this was kind of neat because it takes place in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where I spent a lot of my childhood on my Uncle’s property so I was able to really picture the landscape and even a few little places they mentioned. I really thought Karen Dionne did a great job researching psychopaths, it didn’t sound made up like some books and movies make it to be. It really creeped me out that there could be people around me that are psychopaths that I don’t know are there.

I thought that the main characters Rachel and her sister Dianne were very well developed but the mother fell flat for me and the obviousness of the daughter’s issues I think slowed my reading down. Overall, for me this was an okay read and I will rate it 3 out of 5 stars.
