Cozy mystery is not my usual genre, but I am contractually obligated to read any book with a corgi on a cover. Add in the fact that the human main character shares a name with my real-life corgi (Emma) and that she wants to open a tea shop, and I really had to give it a try.

I can easily recommend this for anyone who does like to read cozies. It's fun, it's a little whimsical, and the Cornish village has a diverse cast of entertaining side characters. Plus Emma and Oliver the corgi are both very likeable. Oliver gets a few perspective chapters, and between that and his dialog with Emma, the author really nailed what I think a talking corgi would be like.

The mystery isn't too hard to figure out, but it does throw out a couple red herrings to keep you guessing.
