A Curse for True Love by Stephanie Garber

Halfway through I was sure this was going to be 5 stars, but the ending was so rushed, there are so many unanswered questions and the fact that the special edition epilogues are so much better than the actual ending (and with that, the Waterstones ending was nowhere near as good as the Barnes & Noble ending in my opinion) is so frustrating and feels like such a money grab - I don't care that it's meant to be like the stories from the North, it's frustrating and somewhat disingenuous to the fans to split up the story-endings into exclusive only content.

I enjoyed most of the plot but I can't get over how this is it, this is the last book of the series we've all been waiting for and so many things are just left unfinished. (I also cannot believe Stephanie Garber asked on Instagram what everyone thought was the reason for Jacks and his apples, and she specifically mentions in the ending that we won't find out- why?? Feels a little mean knowing that she doesn't actually answer that question 😅)

There was a lot of pressure on this book to be amazing, especially after the first 2 books in the series, so while it is still a fun read and a loveable series, it could never have lived up to its own hype. I hope in time when I reread it I'll fall in love with the whole series.
