The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger

1.0

Someone help me out here ... why is this considered a classic? I was intrigued by the point-of-view and attitude of the author, but hoped that there would be some kind of character development. Maybe I missed something. Maybe the point of the book is that things don't change. Nevertheless, I would not recommend this to many people other than as a character study of an adolescent.
