I really wanted to like this book because I love the single dad trope. But this book was so boring that I almost dnf’d it.
The first two chapters were fine but it just got worse and worse by every page.
The relationship between the two main characters felt so awkward. There was no chemistry and no dynamic between the two.
Both of the main characters were absolutely insufferable and annoying, especially the male main character. He literally neglected his own daughter and let his neighbour (the female mc) basically raise his child. And the way he gaslighted the female character… just no. And he had no character development throughout the book.
There is literally nothing likeable about any of the characters.
But the most annoying thing about the book has to be the daughter of the male main character. She ruined a lot of the scenes for me. I don’t know much about kids but I’m sure no 6 year old talks the way that girl talked.

Overall, this is a super boring book with annoying main characters that have zero chemistry. I should I have dnf’d this book.
