Auntie Mame: An Irreverent Escapade by Patrick Dennis
5.0
"But darling," she said dramatically, "I'm your Auntie Mame!" She put her arms around me and kissed me, and I knew I was safe. (Page 14)
This fun and quirky book landed itself on my favorites shelf long before I even finished reading it. I also enjoyed learning about Patrick Dennis when I looked him up after the foreword; he is someone I would have liked to have met! I will be looking into reading his other books, hopeful they are half as fun as Auntie Mame is!
Note: this book is very LGBTQ friendly, as the author was bisexual and took great care in including LGBTQ people in this book.
