Australia 1959– the Turner family, mother and children, are discovered dead while on a picnic. Fast forward 60 years, and a journalist, Jess, is returning to Australia from abroad to take care of her grandmother. In her grandmother’s bedroom, Jess finds a true crime book about this, that ended up being deemed a murder suicide. Jess is shocked to find ties between her grandmother and the cold case, and works to dig to figure out the truth of how and why the Turner family died.

I liked: multiple timelines and areas of mystery with family drama. Lots of plot twists, and I didn’t see the end coming. Entertaining read!

I didn’t like: trigger warning- kids die, which I hate.
