The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas by Gertrude Stein

3.0

While I enjoyed sections, I found myself towards the last half either skimming or re-reading passages for details I did care for.

It is definitely a stream of consciousness style novel. The issue with this for me is I get details on what was ate for dinner, the list of the guests, their attire, what the weather was like, who sat where, segments of how we know these people and then when something of interest does occur, we will either get an answer a few pages or chapters later. Maybe not at all.

Ummm… hello I’d still like to know how Constance broke up a marriage!
