My Name Is Lucy Barton by Elizabeth Strout

4.0

I am so glad to have finally discovered Elizabeth Strout this month.  I started with her latest, and was glad to go back and learn more about Lucy's background.  I just love her writing style and found this one at times so sad, but she always gives you hope.  Lucy definitely had a difficult relationship with her mother.  It was interesting to watch her try to love her no matter what.  That's not an easy situation to be in.  I, myself have never been very good at unconditional love just because it's a parent.  This exploration was very touching for me.  I will definitely continue on with her books and hope to finish them all in the future!
