I enjoyed this even more than the first book - I think because the plot was more cohesive, all of the different sub-plots fit together better. And although it was a little darker than the first book, everything was still handled with a light enough touch to keep it from getting TOO dark.
Regency fantasy with sprinkles of humor and ridiculousness throughout to keep the soul-eating monsters from becoming too scary. Good fun.
