The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty

3.0

IN a spirt of generosity I'll give it a 3, since I didn't finish and I suppose it could get better. But right now I'm wondering what all the fuss is about as this is a pretty *meh* read. It's fine, and fun to read a fantasy that isn't all wizards and elves. The initial few chapters were very evocative of my years in Cairo, and I had high hopes, but now it's just devolved into a standard YA fiction, but with djinn, so I'm debating whether I even want to invest the time finish the first book, let alone the series.
