Daddy's Angel by Laylah Roberts

5.0

Bain has long been a favorite of mine. He's grumpy, distant, and not here for your crap. I've always had a thing for those slightly gruff standoffish types. So, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one and see what type of girl was going to turn him into the cuddly teddy bear I knew was hiding inside. That girl is Ari. She is like Bain in the way that she hides herself behind a cold facade. Maybe together they can let down those walls and find the happiness they both deserve.

This story had all the emotional ups and downs that I love so much in Ms. Roberts's books. It's easy to feel compassion towards Ari. I wanted to wrap her in my arms as badly as Bain did. The tenderness he shows her, made all the sweeter because she's unaware of it, will melt even the coldest heart. As sweet as the love story is, there is still the mess that Ari needs to be rescued from. It's the whole reason for Bain being in her life, after all. That part of the story had me wanting to punch some people. It's this emotional connection that makes this one so good. When you combine that with the sexy scenes and the HEA, you can't go wrong.

Another thing that I love about this one is the new characters that get introduced. I know there's going to be a story there, and I can't wait.
