The Lost World by Arthur Conan Doyle

2.0

I recommend reading something else.

This is certainly a product of its time. However, if it were possible to separate the impact of some of that, it still isn't a good book. It is engaging enough but is primarily concerned with an adventure trip, in which, multiple peoples are destroyed in the name of science. I don't know if science was actually performed in such a way 120 years ago. I suspect the current perspectives of conservation are strikingly different than 100 years ago. To be honest, the issues of conservation were FAR from the most striking parts of it being a product of its time. With all that in mind, while it was a book I was able to finish, it is not a book I can recommend.
