The Woman in Me by Britney Spears

challenging dark emotional hopeful informative sad fast-paced

5.0

First off I am not a fan of Britney Spears music. I am of an older generation. I purchased this book to not only financially support Britney but because I wanted to hear her story from her.

I purchased the hardback, which contains no photos except for the cover, so you won't miss out if you get audio or ebook versions.

I disagree with others on a few points. I spent a full week reading this. Not a quick read for me. Mostly because I became so upset or angry,
I had to pause and take a breather.

I feel it was very well written, it  covers all aspects of her life. For me the most interesting parts were about what she was going through when her life was stolen from her, and compare it to what her horrendous family and the media said.

The writing style was as though we were sitting together having a deep and meaningful girl talk over a cup of tea. I could imagine her talking to me as I read the hardback book.

Upon finishing I was amazed at how Britney survived such horrendous abuse. I despise her family and the father of her children. She was used and abused by everyone in her life. It made me so very angry at the injustices she endured.  Why did it take so long to end the conservatorship. She should never have been under that in the first place. I'm so appalled at her treatment.

Recommended reading. There is a bit of swearing.

For those complaining about wanting more details, Britney has just announced that her follow-up book is being released next year 2024.

Thankyou Britney for telling me your story. I wish you nothing but the very best.
