Out Loud by Ed Madden, Candace Chellew Hodge

This book was really great. First of all, all the stories were quite short - 2 to 4 pages or so, which made for very convenient reading. Also, the variety of stories was awesome. Everything from a mother walking with her gay son in Columbia's first Pride parade to folks coming to terms with their religions or childhoods or military career. I came to this book because of the SC legislature debacle, and quite frankly reading this makes me even more upset about it, because I found nothing offensive about it, and in fact, found most of the stories to be full of warmth and strength and a love of South Carolina despite hardships and negativity.

I highly recommend it to ANYONE.
