Mrs. Caliban by Rachel Ingalls
5.0
A super quick and engaging read for me. I found it via Sara & Cariad’s Weirdos Book Club podcast.
I really enjoyed it and think the author did the most amazing job of saying so much in neat, articulate sentences.
The relationships Dorothy has with Estelle, Fred & Larry are believable and engaging.
There’s subtle humour in the dark parts of this book and it touches on grief more from a distance than really handling it but I could understand how things might happen the way they did for Dorothy. Towards the end I had no idea how things would finish and I think I was satisfied with the end. I won’t forget it in a hurry and really enjoyed how efficiently it told the story.
