This great picture book took feminine stereotypes and turned them on their head. It showed girls being goofy, athletic, scientific, muddy, and complimenting each other. I loved how the book showed the diversity of what a it means to be a girl. The thing that would've pushed me to totally love it is if it included what it clearly meant to exclude. This book is the anti-Fancy Nancy. And I get it. There is no shortage of saturation of ballet-dancing, pink-wearing, horse-riding girls in picture books. However, if you're going to make an all-inclusive type book, I don't think the traditional girly-girl should be eliminated.
