Master & Apprentice by Claudia Gray

As the first Star Wars book I read, this novel has a special place in my heart. Despite this bias, the character development of Qui-Gon Jin and Obi-Wan Kenobi was excellent, even if the plot was a little slow at some points.
Highlights:
- Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan both feeling as of they have failed each other
- Explanation of Qui-Gon's obsession with Anakin being the chosen one
- Backstory of Qui-Gon as Dooku's padawan
This book has changed my perception of Qui-Gon Jin for the better and I now watch The Phantom Menace in a new light.
