⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Lula Dean’s Little Library of Banned Books by @kirstenmillerbooks is my surprise book of the week! A must-read, entertaining book for those who appreciate the “heartwarming, endearing” genre.   Lula Dean wants to ban books in their small town of Troy, North Carolina.  She starts a free lending library of more “appropriate” books like The Art of the Deal, 101 Cakes to Bake for Your Family, and Chicken Soup For the Soul.  Little does she know that someone replaces her books with the banned ones.  Swapping out the covers to sneak them in.

Hilarity Ensues!!!!

So the family who has ostracized their gay son learns that gay people are just people.  And the man who celebrates and champions the Confederate army learns that the captain who enslaved people may not have been the hero he thought he was.

This book has a happy ending.   The worst people grow a great of gold and learn the errors of their ways due to books.  This is what I want in a book.  Hope.

For my audiobook friends, this is great on audio.  Wonderful narrator.  Because I read so much, I rarely get a hardcover book, but this one I purchased so I can read again and again.

Despite that this book got almost no marketing, it is on its fourth printing (published June 18,2024) as of Sept 4 thanks purely to word of mouth.  I’m happy to add mine to the list.
