The Takedown by Carlie Walker
4.0
4 stars!
CIA agent Sydney Swift hasn't been home in 3 years. Wanting to escape her realities, being in the CIA allows her to be anyone but herself. When she gets a call from the FBI wanting her to assist on a case, she never thought it would lead her home for Christmas or have her investigate her sisters fiancé, Johnny, the son of a crime lord who is poised to take over the family business.
In order to saver her unknowing sister from marrying a criminal, Sydney must find out when the next big job Johnny's crew is planning and take him down. When her sister announces they are getting married on Christmas, the clock starts ticking. Sydney needs to gather as much intel as possible so she decides to cozy up to Nick, the head of security for Johnny. What starts as flirting turns into an inferno and Sydney needs to work quickly...but can she also get her own man in the end?
The steamy tension in this book was perfect! Even though it is classified a holiday romance, I enjoyed this book in march! Fun characters (Grandma Ruby!) and the small town settling made this a cozy read and the secret agency aspect made it sexy. I got the anticipation tingles!
Notes:
This book was borrowed from the local library
Author: Carlie Walker- first time reader and cant wait to read more
Genre: Holiday Romance
Troupe: one bed, forced proximity
