Alex stern is not a good person, but she is one hell of a character to follow for this story. I really liked most of the story in regards to its themes of power, the abuse of power, the elitism of Yale. Honestly, if it were not for one specific plot point, or I would have given it five stars, I will most likely continue reading the series, but with the understanding that it is a little bit more graphic, then I had thought it was going to be going in.

there is a very graphic scene where the main character has one of the antagonist eat his own excrement in punishment for something that he did. It’s not the most graphic it could be, but it is fairly disgusting.
