The Virgin Game Plan by Lauren Blakely
5.0
I have enjoyed this entire series but think that The Virgin Game Plan may be my favorite of them all. I really enjoyed Reese and Holden’s story, the element of the second chance romance is such a romantic trope. Additionally Lauren tackles the virgin trope in a new and refreshing way, as she has with the entire series, flipping the shy virgin into a powerful woman who has been too busy with life to bother with meaningless one night stands.
Holden and Reese meet for an interview while Reese is in her senior year of college. They have immediate chemistry and friendship, plus a ton of mutual attraction. After spending the day together, their night does not go as planned. They plan to meet up again, but Reese is offered a job opportunity of a lifetime and she takes it, leaving for South America shortly after. And so, they each become the other’s what if. 2 years pass and neither has had a meaningful relationship. When they suddenly meet again, they pick right back up where they left off. Their romance is sweet and OH so super steamy!
Jason Clark and Ava Erickson give amazing performances in the audiobook. I love how Ava captured the strength of Reese, while still giving her a sweet and insecure side too. The scenes with Reese’s father were especially good. Jason brings his characteristic gravelly voice to Holden, which was a treat for this character. Lauren stepped up the heat a bit with this title and both narrators were fantastic.
Overall this was another amazing listen and read from Lauren Blakely and I loved how each of the stories in this series stemmed from the Men of Summer series, intertwining with the events between Grant and Declan.
