No Offense by Meg Cabot

4.0

"He was a man, and men were so...well, mysterious. No matter how many books she read, she didn't think she'd ever understand them." - No Offense by Meg Cabot

If you are looking for a light-hearted, witty and charming romance novel, you can never go wrong with Meg Cabot. No Offense is a wonderful mix of romance, mystery, intrigue and ultimately, comedic fun.

Molly Montgomery, the new librarian of the children's section of Little Bridge Island's library adores her job at the beautiful island. Nothing seemed to faze her - until she finds an abandoned baby in the bathroom of the library.

The little island is caught in the frenzy as they rumours started to circulate about the poor newborn - and Sheriff John Hartwell is determined to put a stop to it. Uptight, grumpy yet undeniably attractive, he is a distraction to Molly, and vice versa. Nolly tries to get to the bottom of the mystery, although it is hard to do so when she inadvertently intervenes in every single step of the Sheriff's investigation.

The story exudes charm and wit, filled with humour and warmth as the tight-knit island community lends a hand in the investigation in the most intrusive, yet affectionate ways. I adored the way the story is filled with wisps of mystery, yet it also brims with endearment in the bonds that are formed as the island cares for their newest resident, lovingly named baby Aphrodite. The story is full of light-hearted fun and romance, a truly entertaining and heartwarming read that you will definitely enjoy.
