I like a good ol' Navy SEAL or Marine special ops story as much as the next gal, but this one was only okay. It was a quick and easy read, but a lot of the humor missed my funny bone and the whole mafia storyline was left unresolved.
Some quibbles: Didn't like the line of reasoning that skinny, sensitive men weren't real men. (Ex: "Maybe Jeremy had been a little more metro than male, but he'd still been a man. Sort of.") As expressions go, "Holy frijole y guacamole" is a really dumb thing to have a Latina character say over and over. And to the best of my knowledge, Las Cruces is a high desert climate and is not humid.
