This is how you do a children's book just right. I had completely forgotten how much I enjoyed the Lightning Thief when I was younger and I kind of feared the enjoyment would never be the same while reading it way past its target age range, but how good was it still!! The story's fun, and I love how monsters have adapted to the modern world, Percy's narration also remains really funny. I can happily that it has been and will always be a very fun, quick read when you need a bit of comfort&magic in your life. Instead of writing this I could have just amplified that Annabeth Chase will always have my heart and left it at that tbh.
