I loved every second in this book. I am always very nervous about starting any kind of romance cause it's not usally my thing and these books were a very pleasant surprise. 
I would say that some of the marketing for the book may be misleading and if you go into it with the wrong expectations you may be disappointed. 
This is a fantasy adventure romantic comedy. Some people have called it cozy fantasy but there is explicit on page death and sex scenes in this book. It was a bit much for me at first because it not something I usally enjoy reading. I did appreciate that there were not awkward nicknames and euphemisms for acts and body parts. It is very clear and very explicit so if you know you don't like that I would skip this book. She also pushes at the 4th wall a bit and the story doesn't take itself super seriously. There's definitely alot of absurd humor and making fun of romance tropes. 
This book has definitely made me want to pick up more romance and read more by this author.
