It took me awhile to finish because I wasn’t in the right headspace for this kind of book. I’m a mood reader and I think I was in the mood for romance and not a book where people die.

some of the characters did so many despicable things that it was hard to root for them but then they were tortured so badly you couldn’t help but root for them. Killian was killed so horribly that I hated Callum but as soon as he was getting tortured, I was like no😔

I really like Aoife and Declan however I had a harder time to like Tommy and Maura. I think it was because I think their relationship was so rushed they basically met and then they had a tragic love story where they couldn’t be together. Then they were together and then they were happy and then she left and i was like “wait what?” 

I think I would’ve liked the plot a little bit better if it didn’t spend the entire time going to the sirens. I thought they were going to have the reunion at the halfway mark but it turned out to be like the last 50 pages so that was a little bit disappointing, but it was also on me. I was a little bit surprised by the plot twist regarding Aoife’s mother however I saw her having powers coming. 

Can’t say I was that invested in Cait’s story however I thought she an Alder were very cute together, and I hope they end up together.
