Ôoku: The Inner Chambers, Vol. 7 by Fumi Yoshinaga
4.0
ejima is an incredible cutie, i'm so sad about how his story played out
also yoshinaga is unrelentless with her realism, dang
woman just refuses to give heroes and villains
i've cared about every set of shogun and retainers she's presented even as the course of the plot means they are unreconcilably opposed to each other
like i love yoshimune and i'm all abut her reign but also ouch, i did not enjoy seeing what happened to sakyo, manabe, ejima, and shingoro to get her there
4 stars
