I’ve had more than ample enough time to think about how I feel about this book. Through my reading I’ve come to discover that I prefer my books with some meat on them. I love well fleshed out 3-D characters that make me feel something. This book, while not a terrible book, is skin and bones. It is a quick read with a payoff twist that was more of an “I hadn’t thought of that” than an “I didn’t see that one coming”. I came away with no true connection to the story or the characters. Objectively, I didn’t find any fault with the story. I am the one who set her expectations too high, instead of just sitting back and enjoying the ride. Keep that in mind and you’ll find the story delivers exactly what it promises. 3 1/2 stars.
