Give Me Your Hand by Megan Abbott

I loved this up until like 80% of the way through at which point all these brilliant women seemed to take stupid pills and fall to wanting to hurt each other — or at least the narrator did — which just made it all so infuriating to read.
A note about this book for my ace folks: this is not ace friendly. Diane, one of the protagonists, is described as never having sex, finding sex repulsive and other things that could get a reader to clearly read her as ace. However the narrator is pretty aphobic— constantly questioning how she couldn’t want to have sex, and definitely calling her the villain of the piece. It can be kind of triggering and bothered me a lot while reading. Definitely tread with care — I don’t think it’s necessarily bad, but would warn people about that.
