Death Doesn't Bargain by Sherrilyn Kenyon

3.0

Once again, Kenyon manages to make her world more involved than ever, twisting stories and strands of hints she's laid out for years into a knot to keep her fans firmly in their seats and begging for more.

Kalder's redemption story isn't the easy occasion she left readers thinking it would be in [b:Deadmen Walking|25479220|Deadmen Walking (Deadman's Cross, #1)|Sherrilyn Kenyon|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1494651518s/25479220.jpg|45251033]. He sacrificed his life for Cameron, so he should be set free, yes?

Yes, but with plenty of strings attached, several of his own making.

And once again, she leaves us on a very obvious cliffhanger for the next book [b:At Death's Door|34742469|At Death's Door (Deadman's Cross, #3)|Sherrilyn Kenyon|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/book/50x75-a91bf249278a81aabab721ef782c4a74.png|55931646] (coming next spring, hopefully).

But, I have to give her credit. For all that she's laying on thick these cliffhangers and piling on the story lines but only partially answering them, she makes sure it's a wild and fulfilling ride getting there. The interaction she had with Acheron, Thorn, and Savitar had me in stitiches.
