Really enjoyed the lore and the rich descriptions.  I liked all the characters except the sun priest, whose naivety just bothered me.  The jumping around in time and character POVs were a little jarring at first but overall really enjoyable and I liked the pace of the writing. Love the diversity and inclusivity of the characters.
the end felt a bit anticlimactic and the first book did feel like an intro for what's to come but it did make me immediately want to read the rest of the series
