Spirals in Time: The Secret Life and Curious Afterlife of Seashells by Helen Scales

informative relaxing slow-paced

4.0

So much to learn, really a great book, but it can lag. There is a ton of information in this book, which I loved, but did make reading certain parts very sluggish and feel like I was hiking uphill. Lots of history facts (taxonomy, discoveries, etc) alongside the authors personal journeys/experiences with mollusks.

Absolutely loved the information on hermit crab vacancy chains. Gives me an extra layer of love for them!

Love how she ends with a conservation message, pressuring governments/those in power but also reminding readers of their own impacts.
