Race Me Never by Daisy Thorn

3.5

Race Me Never is Daisy Thorn's debut romance book, and there is clearly a ton of potential. Rita was a relatable character who you couldn't help but love, and the plot was written well. Nothing felt unnecessary and it all connected so well as the plot moved forward. I love the meet cute in this story. Airport meet cutes are one of my favorite things, and Rita and Hugo have the ultimate luck with their original and connecting flights being the same.

I also loved that the setting was split mostly between Ukraine and London. I haven't read a romance book set in Eastern Europe, and that was an amazing change of pace.

This book's rating hinges on the insta-love and Hugo in the beginning of the book. Hugo's feelings felt more like obsession's rather than romantic to me, and while I've noticed that is popular, it is not a trope for me.
