Don’t get me wrong it’s still an objectively mediocre book and TRC The Raven King needs to save me from the perilous danger of subpar writing, but this was a massive improvement on the first book.
First off, things actually happened (even though i did not want them to at all). The characters felt more distinct in my opinion which made me care more, which in turn made everything a shit ton sadder. Jesus fucking Christ. This was insane. I’m going to read the third one because of course I am. Need to see Riko dead in a ditch after intense bouts of suffering. Feeling very vindictive rn.
I will say if your name is Nathaniel and you change your name to Neil, that’s basically just the end of your name already. No wonder Riko caught on to who he was so quick!! Also ginger Neil is insane. Also also is Kevin the real enemy cus like why did he just let Neil go to Evermore. I’d just cut my losses and leave Andrew behind tbh (i wouldn’t but oh my god find a better solution and use critical thinking for once)
Also once I make an AFTG playlist that isn’t just Not Like Us and The Alchemy it’s over for you all (it’s over for me I’ve lost the battle against this series)
