The Three-Body Problem by Cixin Liu

2.0

This is a weird one. Maybe because I'd heard so many good things about it for so long, my expectations were raised too high? But I finished the book wondering what had drawn so many people to this story. It starts out intriguingly enough, but very soon any trace of human drama is lost in a sea of exposition that makes this seem more like a series of scientific thought experiments dressed up in a story. It's possible that the other books add up to a fantastic story, but I have to be honest and say I'm not sure I feel all that motivated to give it a go.
