Princess Mia by Meg Cabot

4.0

I really wish I had read this when it came out. I was still shaken and sad about the developments in the prior installment, so I didn't read Princess Mia until now, but I think I could have benefited from reading about a character that I so strongly identified with going to (and, more importantly, committing to) therapy. Though the timeline in the Princess Diaries universe starts getting really noticeably off in Princess Mia, the book felt a lot more contemporary than I was expecting it to be.
