For almost all of the book I really enjoyed it, but the end was very rushed and the last couple chapters completly ruined the whole book for me. This seems to be a trend with the author of adding in a twist at the very end of her books but based on the 2 I've read, the twist is the same and both times makes absolutely no sense and completely takes away from the rest of the book. It's a lazy way to end her books and a disservice to her own writing.
Main takeaway - good story idea, but execution was very mid. I wasn't invested in the characters, the ending contradicts a lot of the book, and held some poor writing choices with random plot jumps and too many lucky coincidences. Felt like she was trying to write a movie/TV show but accidentally made it into a book instead of a script somehow.
