I really enjoyed Princess Jellyfish. I’m sure I’ll have more to say once I get further into the series but I am liking the themes that have been set up so far. The opposing insanity of the Amars and Kuranosuke brings a lot of laughs, and the shared theme of lost mothers gives the story emotional grounding. The discussion of gender expression was a little dated at times, not enough to take away from my experience or the queerness of the story, particularly when this story asks itself “what does it mean to be beautiful?”
