kind of a stressful read since it deals with an endless post-grad crisis; the project of the book was really interesting but I don't know if I would normally pick up something chronicling sex/rich ppl/adultery/financial troubles that was so long. it felt soo long when i started but i got really invested in the characters and the growth they experienced. also just kind of a bizarre read as an asian american from a slightly later decade, as well as the fact that it's a book about wall street that takes place before both 9/11 and the 2008 financial crisis happened. the way the book wraps up towards the end made up for the sort of endless struggles that I felt so sad reading, and overall even though I felt like this really was a book capturing a different generation I really appreciated the snapshot it provided of that era
