Netherfield Prep: A Modern Reimagining of Jane Austen's 'Pride & Prejudice' by Elizabeth Stevens

It's a Pride and Prejudice retelling, so right there I'm pretty well hooked. Stevens did a good job of adapting a classic to a modern-day boarding school, most of her alterations were quite believable and worked well.

SpoilerI would have liked to see more Charlie, I did not love the fact that she made EVERYONE fall for Lily, and there were several points in the novel where too much was taken near verbatim from the original which did not mesh well at all with the normally slang speaking teenagers. The twist of Lily having money felt thrown in haphazardly, it was never really addressed with anyone other than Cass. I would have expected it to come up with Austin at some point.

I loved that the novel was written from dual perspectives, getting insight into how Austin was perceiving the entire experience was great.
