that was great. palahniuk has such a fast paced, addictive style of writing that made an already visceral novel even more intense. i very much enjoyed the fast pacing of the chapter splices, but even in the brief moments that the novel slowed down, the descriptions were detailed and intimate.
the concept of the novel is something that can (and will) be debated for years to come. i think that’s what makes it special: it’s not clear cut. as much as i want to complain about people misinterpreting tyler as a attainable figure of masculinity, i can’t. it’s not clear cut, so misinterpreting it is part of the fun. great novel - can’t wait to watch the film!
