The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi

3.0

Spoiler This book overall had a surreal feel with the forging almost God like powers some people had bestowed upon them by birth. That was the first thing that drew me in. The quirkiness of Zofia almost reminded me of Kaylee from Firefly. She was sweet but awkwardly smart, not quite a 'lady' if you will. The book however, was not what I had presumed it would be seemingly a simple plot of a man wanting his birthright back (his house Vanth) and some heists to make a pact. I didn't expect things to dive into the fallen house they way they did almost out of no where. But ultimately, I guessed that House Vanth wouldn't actually be his birthright my guess is that it was Tristan's and now he is dead... why they wanted to feign like it was his birthright I'm interested to learn. But most of all I'm interested in Laila's story and that is what will likely draw me into reading the next book. What is she? Why is she coming undone? What does this book hold to save her?
